Our roving Dollywood photographer was able to snap some photos of the park this past weekend during the festivities.

Even during the daylight, the buildings and grounds are gorgeous!

When the night falls, the Dollywood Christmas lights are everywhere!

I imagine that simply walking around the park is breathtaking. I can’t wait to experience it firsthand!

The Smoky Mountain Christmas takes place every weekend through January 3, 2016. The park is open most days in December, as well. Check the schedule for dates and times!

In addition to the lights, Dollywood offers stage shows, musical and special events. You can even meet Rudolph and his friends! The Timber Canyon Stage offers lights that are synchronized to music, as well.

Many of the attractions are open during the evening, and I’ve heard that riding Thunderhead in the dark is pretty astounding. Still, Dollywood is known for their shows and I would spend the time visiting the live shows and viewing the lights. Of course, there should be plenty of the amazing homemade cinnamon bread on hand.

  1. The level of precision is amazing. We’re not talking about outlining in all white lights but they literally paint the buildings with colored lights. Each light is perfectly spaced and placed. Any lights that land where they shouldn’t are covered over to keep the colors exactly where they should be. Really amazing.
