Disneyland 70th Anniversary Book by Don Hahn and Christopher Merritt

Disneyland has always been more than just a theme park. It’s a cultural icon, a place of imagination and nostalgia, and for many, a second home. To celebrate the park’s rich history and enduring legacy, authors Don Hahn and Christopher Merritt have created what may be the definitive Disneyland 70th Anniversary book: The Happiest Place on Earth: The Incredible Story of Walt Disney’s Disneyland.

I purchased my copy and immediately knew I had to share it. I created a video preview that gives you an overhead look at the book as I flip through its beautifully designed pages. You’ll see rare photos, personal stories, concept art, and tributes to the guests and cast members who helped make Disneyland what it is today. This video is a must-watch if you’re considering adding this book to your collection—or if you just want to get a glimpse of Disneyland history at its finest.

Watch the full video preview here and see why this book is already being called one of the best ever published about the park.

About the Authors of the Disneyland Book

Christopher Merritt is no stranger to Disney history. He co-authored the landmark Marc Davis: in His Own Words with Pixar’s Pete Docter, and his work always brings depth, heart, and insight. Don Hahn, a legendary producer and Disney storyteller in his own right, brings emotional resonance to the project. Together, they’ve created a book that absolutely belongs on the shelf alongside Disneyland: The Inside Story and The Nickel Tour.

Have you read the book yet?

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Or, if you’ve ever visited Disneyland, share your favorite memory in the comments. Whether it was your first visit, a once-in-a-lifetime moment, or a regular family tradition, let’s celebrate 70 years of magic together.
