1994 Walt Disney World Planning VHS
If you ever planned a Walt Disney World trip in the mid-1990s, this one is going to hit you right in the VCR.
I just uploaded the complete Walt Disney World Planning Guide for Families VHS from 1994. This is the kind of tape Disney mailed to your house so you could study every frame before your vacation and memorize park maps at the kitchen table. It is a perfect little time capsule of a resort that feels familiar and completely different at the same time.

Retro 1994 Disney World Goodness
The video walks you through all three parks of the era, the water park, and a wide range of on-site resorts. You get quick 10 to 30 second clips of the headliner attractions, character moments, and nighttime shows. Along the way, you will see extinct favorites like Splash Mountain, Horizons, World of Motion, and the Wonders of Life pavilion with Body Wars flying guests through the human body.
Epcot is still in its 1990s Future World glory, with Wonders of Life open and Innoventions just arriving on the scene to replace CommuniCore as Disney’s new tech playground. Over at Disney-MGM Studios, you get that early studio-park energy, complete with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cruising through the park during their run at the Studios in the early to mid-90s.
Magic Kingdom fans will spot Mickey’s Starland and the Mickey Mania Parade, both pure mid-90s energy with bright costumes, TV graphics, and that “Disney Afternoon” feel that defined the time. The resorts segment is just as fun. You will see the monorail hotels, Fort Wilderness, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans, Dixie Landings, Yacht and Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin, and the early All-Star Resorts, all shown off with earnest vacation-planner narration and very committed 90s fashion.
It is also worth remembering where this sits in the bigger history. This 1994 Walt Disney World Planning VHS was made years before Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened on April 22, 1998, so Walt Disney World is still a three-park resort trying to explain what a “full week” vacation looks like without a fourth gate.
