Country Bear Musical Jamboree Book!

Trixie I Bearly Remember might be the most unexpectedly delightful “book find” in the Magic Kingdom right now. The new Country Bear Musical Jamboree update does more than refresh the show. It quietly upgrades the Grizzly Hall lobby into a mini backstory museum, complete with display cases that hint at the bears’ careers without giving away the gags on stage. I am skipping the spoilers, but I am absolutely not skipping the ephemera.

I don’t believe in spoilers at ImagiNERDing, but I enjoyed the show and I think this update will please the younger generations. ImagiNERDS will enjoy some of the references made in the show, but you’ll need to see those for yourself. I visited the Magic Kingdom with friend and Disney author Aaron H. Goldberg. It’s a rare day that you get to experience two refreshed Disney attractions and we were both looking forward to the Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

With the update, the Imagineers spent time upgrading the lobby to tell the story of the stars before you enter Grizzly Hall for the performance. There are several new display cases with artifacts, magazines, awards, and…a book!

Yes, the claw marks are still on the floor, but this display case has some wonderful artifacts from the bear’s careers. Let’s take a closer look at one in particular.

Trixie’s Book: I Bearly Remember

One of the featured items showcases a book by Trixie titled I Bearly Remember: My Long Journey From the Foothills to the Footlights, with Trixie listed as the author, “Famous From Tacoma to Tampa.”

The book is on a display box with a plaque that reads: Trixie Published A Book Based On Her Scrapbooks and Journals. Courtesy of Trixie.

Props like Trixie I Bearly Remember are why I love looking closely in refreshed attractions. They reward repeat visits, they build character history without a single line of dialogue, and they feel like Imagineering winking at anyone willing to slow down and read the plaques. If you visit Grizzly Hall, take a minute in the lobby before the doors open and scan the artifacts like you are browsing a tiny, bear-sized archive. And if you spot another “book in the parks” detail, tell me about it.

Those hidden chapters always draw me in.

The Former Rarest Book in the Magic Kingdom

I love running across books in the theme parks, especially the rarest Disney book of all time from the former Splash Mountain attraction.
