Aladdin: Far from Agrabah by Aisha Saeed

Disney Publishing has done a fantastic job over the past few years of re-telling and re-imagining stories related to classic animated films and newer live action. Aladdin: Far from Agrabah is a new book by Aisha Saeed that tells a new story about Aladdin and Jasmine’s journey to a whole new world.

Disney sent a review copy and I was excited to see what this story had to offer.

Aladdin: Far from Agrabah

I hate spoilers. I don’t watch any movie trailers and I stay away from rumor sites. You won’t get too much about the book’s story from me, except that I really enjoyed the tale. The story takes place just after Prince Ali and Jasmine meet. You know the story, but Jasmine is interested in learning more about Prince Ali’s background and his kingdom. And while Aladdin, er, Prince Ali has a magic carpet, he’s able to whisk Jasmine away for a visit.

You mean Abawba?

Yes.

So, how does Aladdin take Jasmine to this whole new world?

You’ll have to read the book to find out.

Aladdin: Far from Agrabah is a charming tale geared towards tweens and teens, but adults that are interested in expanding the story from the upcoming film will enjoy it. I appreciated the moments of the book in which Aisha weaves the tale of a local legend that plays into the story; it helped ground the book with a dose of realism.

A magic carpet ride full of adventure, suspense, and wonder written by New York Times best-selling author Aisha Saeed, this story will be a must-read for any Aladdin fans who find themselves drawn into and enchanted by the magical world of Agrabah and beyond.

Are you going to pick up a copy of Aladdin: Far From Agrabah before the film is released on May 24, 2019?
