Night Night, Groot Picture Book, a review!

It’s baby Groot!

Check out this cute picture book from Marvel featuring baby Groot, Rocket Raccoon and so many more of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers. Night Night, Groot was written by Brendan Deneen and illustrated by Cale Atkinson.

The book is really cute and is perfect for the Groot and Marvel fan in your house, no matter their age.

From the blurb:

It’s been a long day for baby Groot and he’s ready to be tucked in for bed. Just as his eyes start to close, Rocket Raccoon bursts onto the scene! Groot can’t go to sleep yet, there’s a whole galaxy that needs to be defended and they must work together to save the day! Then maybe, just maybe, Groot will finally get the rest he deserves!

The art style was charming and features many of the Marvel heroes and villains. It’s geared towards the under-five set, as a lap story time or bedtime story. Kindergartners and children just starting to read on their own will find it a satisfying story. The rhyming is fun, as well. Cale Atkinson does a great job of translating the Marvel action to the page without feeling violent or sacrificing the art. I read it to a friend’s child (four year-old) and he loved it. I think we read the book five or six times. As a grown-up, there were more than enough details and Easter eggs that kept the book entertaining. Of course, we had to talk about what the heroes were doing throughout the book.

Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy are going to love the book, especially families.
