Do Not Feed Wild Animals

I picked up this fantastic, little, notebook-style golf course description booklet at the Lake Buena Vista Pro Shop. I am not a golfer, by any means, but I can’t pass up any ephemera about the Walt Disney World Resort.

The booklet a simple 10 pages with a map of the entire course and a description and map of each hole on the succeeding pages. Disney describes the natural layout of each tee and special attributes, such as natural waterways and wildlife areas. Also included are tips for the novice golfer.

Audubon Intemational has certified Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Course as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. This certification recognizes the efforts we have made in environmental stewardship through participation in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. Under this program, we continually strive toward best management practices in environmental planning: wildlife and habitat management; chemical use reduction and safety; water conservation; water quality management; and outreach and education.

Disney’s Magnolia and Disney’s Palm, host to PGA TOUR’s Disney Golf Classic since 1971, were desiqned by renowned architect Joe Lee. The feature beautiful Florida woodlands and stately Magnolia trees.

Another one of Joe Lee‘s designs is Disney’s Lake Buena Vista, which winds through pastel villas and flowing canals.
